Things to buy before baby is born
Baby Items
| Wipies | You can never have too many wipies! Your child will be in diapers for a long time, and you will go through more wipies than you can imagine. At worst, you use them for future babies. They are also amazing to have for cleaning around the house and car!
| Diapers |Grab a few big boxes of newborn and size 1 diapers. You will use them and if you need to, you can always return them! If you have other kids in diapers, grab sizes for them too.
| Onesies & Sleepers | The more the better so you can avoid laundry as much as possible!

Household Items
| Toilet Paper | You might not use this for a few weeks, but your family will.
| Freezer Food | Pile up on your favorite frozen foods for when you can’t or don’t want to cook. We love frozen pizza but grab some easy meals, veggies and ice cream too!
| Pantry Items | Stock up on your favorite pantry items for a quick snack.
| Toiletries | Make sure you have plenty of soap, shampoo, toothpaste and baby wash.
| Laundry Soap | No judgment if you let the laundry pile up those first few weeks! When you need to wash your clothes, have enough soap for you and baby on hand.
Mama Items
| Pads | No tampons! Grab some heavy flow pads for the first week or two. After that you should be okay with panty liners.
| Comfy Undies | During recovery, grab some of your favorite comfy undies. Get a few extra, too, in case you don’t get to the laundry. You won’t be wearing cute panties for a little while.
| Postparum Care | You will want some ice packs, witch hazel pads and other postpartum items. See what else I recommend in this fourth trimester survival checklist.

Baby Feeding
| Nipple Cream | This nipple cream is a life savor! I also relied heavily on these gel relief pads while baby and I got the hang of latching.
| Nipple Covers |In case you have leaky boobies like I did, grab a few washable covers and throw away ones for back up.
| Nursing Bras |To put your nipple covers in and keep you feeling supported, check out these amazing nursing bras.
| Bottles | I used these bottles with Jackson and they were perfect. He loved them right away. Some babies don’t take to all bottles, though. It might make sense to grab a few bottle styles to try with baby.
| Formula |If you aren’t nursing, you will need formula for baby. The hospital usually gives you some and a bunch of samples. Do some research for what formula you’d like to give baby and get a few canisters before baby arrives.
There are plenty of other things you can buy if you want or feel the need. These are the basic and necessary things to buy before baby is born.
